SunCoast Performance started in 1989 as a two-man operation in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, built to answer the demand for high-quality aftermarket torque converters, transmissions, and parts. Decades of real-world test data — and an R&D team unmatched in the automotive community — have gone into identifying and correcting the failure points of OEM transmissions and converters.

Today SunCoast runs more than 75,000 climate-controlled square feet, with in-house metal supplier National Aluminum & Alloy keeping upwards of $2,000,000 in raw material on the floor — complete manufacturing control of every product, from inception to completion.

68RFE Category 1 Transmission with Triple Disc Converter

The 68RFE transmission is the big brother to the 45/545RFE transmission. The RFE platform was originally designed by Chrysler and was introduced in 1999 with the debut of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee. "RFE" stands for Rear-wheel drive Fully Electronic control. The RFE design was mostly noted in the new design to have 3 planetary sets for a 4-speed transmission in the 45RFE.
